Shifeng S Mao, MD, PhD

Dr. Mao is the chair of the AHN Cancer Institute urological oncology team. His practice and research focus on genitourinary cancers, including prostate cancer, bladder cancer, kidney cancer, and testicular cancer. He is an Associate Professor Medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine.

Dr. Mao is an active researcher and the principal investigator of many clinical trials. He has active collaborations with colleagues from Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center and Carnegie Mellon University. He is the recipient of American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Young Investigator Award.

He has published many research studies in medical journals and presented his findings at national conferences. His experience in cancer research gives him a unique perspective and insight into the biology of cancer, which enhances his clinical care with patients.

Dr. Mao earned his medical degree from Beijing Medical University and his doctorate in medical pathology from University of Tennessee Health Science Center. He completed his residency at New York University School of Medicine and continued his studies through a fellowship at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston/MD Anderson Cancer Center.
