Ruifeng Zhou, M.D., is a board-certified medical oncologist and hematologist at the Allegheny Health Network. He has a special interest in lung cancer. He also has interests in bladder cancer, prostate cancer, kidney cancer, head/neck cancer, breast cancer, and gastrointestinal oncology, including colon, liver, esophageal, and gastric cancers. Additionally, based on his experience, Dr. Zhou is also highly skilled in hematology with a special focus on treating anemia, thrombocytopenia, bleed/clotting diseases, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma.
Dr. Zhou earned his medical degree from Tianjin Medical University in China. He completed an internal medicine residency at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center and fellowship training in hematology/oncology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.
In 1999, he received a Master of Science degree in pathophysiology from the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (CAMS) and Peking Union Medical College. As an attending physician at the Institute of Hematology & Blood Diseases Hospital within CAMS, Dr. Zhou practiced internal medicine for seven years. From his years of clinical and basic research on bleeding and clotting disorders, he was honored to be the only Chinese physician selected for the World Federation of Hemophilia Fellowship in 2000. His clinical research experience includes seven years as an assistant research scientist at the University of Iowa, and his work has been published in several high-impact papers on topics relating to basic science. Dr. Zhou is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a member of the American Hematology Society and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
Dr. Zhou welcomes patients ages 18 and older. He speaks English, Hindi, and Punjabi.
