Dr. Brabender specializes in hand and upper extremity surgery. He treats most acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions of the shoulder, elbow and hand in adults and children. He has received extensive training in shoulder arthroplasty, arthroscopy, upper extremity fracture management, tendon issues, nerve-related problems and microsurgery.
Dr. Brabender received his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine. He completed his surgical internship and orthopaedic residency at Allegheny General Hospital. Following his residency, he completed a fellowship at the Florida Orthopaedic Institute in hand and upper extremity surgery. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery for orthopaedic surgery and hand surgery. He is member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.
Dr. Brabender has conducted extensive research in his field of hand and upper extremity. He has given numerous presentations to medical audiences at both national and regional conferences. As a native of western Pennsylvania, he is looking forward to sharing his expertise with his patients.
He practices at the Human Motion Center and has staffing privileges at Allegheny General, Forbes and West Penn Hospitals. He also performs surgeries at the Monroeville and Peters Township outpatient surgery centers. He is accepting new patients of all ages.
