Rima Ahmad, MD

Dr. Ahmad, MD, FACS, believes that medical care, especially surgery, should be tailored to each patient's unique situation. To meet this goal, she uses her experience in endoscopic, robotic, and laparoscopic procedures, in addition to traditional open surgery, so she can offer each patient the right approach for their needs.

Her expertise includes anti-reflux surgery and paraesophageal hernia repair, as well as surgery for gallbladder disease, diverticulitis, and tumors of the stomach, small and large bowels, and adrenal glands. To provide comprehensive surgical care for her patients, she also performs a range of general surgical procedures including enteral feeding access, port placement, abdominal wall hernia repair, and screening endoscopy.

Dr. Ahmad received a medical degree from Shifa College of Medicine in Islamabad, Pakistan. Her residency training was undertaken at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts and at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, Connecticut. She gained further training through a fellowship in advanced GI surgery at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. She speaks English and Urdu.
