Dr. Matthew Lander, MD, FACC is a highly experienced and dedicated Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiologist at Allegheny General Hospital (AGH) and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine. After earning his MD from Drexel University, he completed his Internal Medicine Residency and Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, followed by an Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Lander is board-certified in Cardiovascular Disease, and Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology. He serves as medical director of the Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS) Program, where he leads a multidisciplinary team in providing exceptional care for patients with advanced heart failure and plays a pivotal role in developing and implementing protocols to optimize patient outcomes. His interests include expanding access to innovative device therapies in heart failure and his research focuses on improving equitable access to advanced heart failure care for underserved populations. Furthermore, he treats patients with cardiac sarcoidosis as well as pulmonary hypertension. He has numerous publications in leading journals in the field.
