"It was not a precise medical appointment. In fact, things that are not applicable to my major concern were hardly discussed. I had to redirect to ask about my current issues. In fact, I felt that I was the doctor since I asked about my own test results, and what tests I needed. If I had not said that, the yearly required tests I've had would not have been set up. The provider seemed surprised when I asked for it. An a-ha' moment, perhaps. If I did not have the knowledge to ask, speaks poorly for the medical provider. What if I were not as aware of tests, etc. I can see how people could slip through the cracks. My family is constantly surprised when I speak about my poor experiences. They never have that. But they do not live in this area. Seems they have a higher level of professionalism and expertise in their care."
