Certified by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Machado is a highly skilled transplant surgeon who specializes in liver transplantation, hepatobiliary surgery, and minimally invasive laparoscopic liver surgery. Dr. Machado earned his medical degree at the University of California, San Francisco, and completed his surgical residency at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix, Az. He received additional training in abdominal transplant surgery during his fellowship at the University of Cincinnati.He is a member of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons, American College of Surgeons, and American Medical Society. He also is an instructor for advanced trauma life support. Dr. Machado has medical staff privileges at Allegheny General Hospital, Forbes Hospital, Jefferson Hospital, and West Penn Hospital.
