Laurie W Mathie, MD, is a rheumatology specialist who provides preventive care and expert diagnosis of excessive inflammation throughout of the body that can lead to complications of the skin, eyes, organs, joints, muscles, and bones. She routinely treats pain, swelling, and stiffness stemming from arthritis, other musculoskeletal conditions, and systemic autoimmune diseases. Dr. Mathie earned her medical degree from Hahnemann School of Medicine, part of the Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she also completed residency. Additionally, she completed a rheumatology fellowship through the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. Mathie is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Rheumatology and is a member of the American College of Rheumatology and Pennsylvania Medical Society.
