James Valeriano, MD, is a neurologist who provides comprehensive care of patients with epilepsy, seizures, and other neurological issues. He is skilled at vagus nerve stimulation and NeuroPace® responsive neurostimulation and offers expert interpretations of electroencephalograms. Dr. Valeriano is the Director of the Comprehensive Epilepsy Program at AHN. Dr. Valeriano earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He completed his residency and a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology at Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, DC. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology. Dr. Valeriano is an associate professor at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. He also serves on the board of directors for the Epilepsy Foundation of Western and Central Pennsylvania. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, Allegheny County and Pennsylvania Medical Societies, the American Epilepsy Society, the American Electroencephalographic Society, and the National Association of Epilepsy Centers. Dr. Valeriano welcomes patients ages 12 and older.
