Gary Hoover, DO, helps patients regain strength, mobility, and flexibility following injuries or illness. He is skilled in treating neurological conditions such as stroke, spasticity, spinal cord disorders, amputation, and other conditions. He works closely with local orthotics and prosthetics companies to prescribe appropriate braces and adaptive equipment to improve their function. He received his medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania. He completed his intern year at Mercy Health – St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio and his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Case Western Reserve University/MetroHealth System in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Hoover is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He has presented research on a new screening tool for cervical myelopathy, published a review article on agitation management strategies in traumatic brain injury patients, and presented lectures and other scholarly activity on various physical medicine and rehabilitation topics.
