Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Lavelle specializes in the diagnosis and care of women with pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence. She has expertise in minimally invasive surgery, female pelvic medicine, and reconstructive surgery. After earning her medical degree at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, Dr. Lavelle completed her obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive sciences residency and a fellowship in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery at Magee-Womens Hospital of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, American Urogynecologic Society, and Society for Gynecologic Surgeons. She is also the primary researcher for a study of acute urinary retention following pelvic reconstructive surgery. Dr. Lavelle has medical privileges at West Penn Hospital and Bethel Park Surgery Center.
