Brian M Thomas, MD
Dr. Brian Michael Thomas is a medical oncologist and hematologist passionate about medical oncology, hematology, healthcare delivery, public policy, and government. He has led healthcare network initiatives focused on physician productivity, the implementation of quality metrics in cancer care, and other projects within AHNCI, including Moonshot enrollment.
Dr. Thomas completed his fellowship in medical oncology and hematology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, and his residency in internal medicine through the Osler Medical Housestaff Training Program at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. During his oncology fellowship, he worked to increase cancer screening rates at Houston's largest Federally Qualified Health Center, participated in leadership roles within MD Anderson's Comprehensive Cancer Control Program, and served on the Texas Medical Association's Committee on Cancer. During his residency, he served as President of The Maryland State Medical Society Resident and Fellow Section, spearheading initiatives to improve health literacy and preventative health in Baltimore.
Dr. Thomas was elected Chair of the Minnesota Medical Association Medical Student Section and received the University of Minnesota President's Service and Leadership Award. During his training, he chaired several American Medical Association committees and served on the MEDPAC Board of Directors and the Maryland State Medical Society.
